SMILE Pro recovery is fast. Most patients have functional vision within 24–48 hours of surgery, with no corneal flap, no stitches, and no bandage required. Because SMILE Pro uses only a tiny 2–4 mm micro-incision instead of cutting a full corneal flap, recovery is typically faster and more comfortable than LASIK. Mild blurring, light sensitivity, and mild dryness in the first 24–48 hours are normal and expected. The majority of patients return to desk work within 1–2 days and are living normally within a week. Full visual stability is achieved within 1–3 weeks.

    FAQs

    1. How fast do you recover from SMILE Pro eye surgery?

Most patients experience functional vision within 24-48 hours after SMILE Pro. Complete visual stability is typically achieved within 1-3 weeks. Because there is no corneal flap, recovery is often smoother and faster than LASIK for many patients.

    2. Can I go to work the next day after SMILE Pro?

Most desk-job and office workers can return to work within 24-48 hours. Physical jobs, outdoor work or jobs in dusty environments should be avoided for 1 week. Your surgeon at Vasu Eye Institute will guide you based on your recovery.

    3. Is it normal to have blurry vision after SMILE Pro?

Yes. Mild blurriness and light sensitivity in the first 24-48 hours after SMILE Pro is completely normal. Vision typically clears significantly within 48 hours and continues improving over 1-2 weeks.

    4. How long do I need to use eye drops after SMILE Pro?

Antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops are typically prescribed for 1-2 weeks after SMILE Pro. Lubricating eye drops may be recommended for 1-3 months to manage any mild dryness.

    5. When can I watch TV or use a phone after SMILE Pro?

You can use your phone or watch TV the same day, but in moderation. Limit screen time to avoid eye strain in the first 48 hours. Resume normal screen use from Day 2-3 as comfort allows.

    6. When can I drive after SMILE Pro surgery?

Do not drive on the day of surgery. Most patients can drive when they feel their vision is clear and comfortable, typically from Day 2-3. Confirm with your doctor at Vasu Eye Institute before driving.

    7. When can I swim or exercise after SMILE Pro?

Light walking can resume the next day. Gym workouts (non-contact) can resume after 1 week. Swimming should be avoided for 4 weeks. Contact sports should be avoided for 4-6 weeks.
